Knowlton Hall | Ohio State University

Italian-born Matteo Bologna credits a breakup with a girlfriend for leading him to his love of typeface design. For three months, he multi-tasked between grueling goodbyes over the phone and learning one of the first type software programs (available only in English, his second language).

Fast-forward 20 years and one cross-continental move, and he's the founder, president, and creative mastermind behind internationally acclaimed New York branding and design agency Mucca Design.

With energy, intellect, and quick wit, he's led the Mucca Design team in shaping brands like Adobe, Harper Collins, Random House, the Standard Hotel Restaurants in LA, and Target.

His work in design and typography has commanded the attention and accolades of AIGA, Communication Arts, Eye, Graphis, HOW, PRINT, STEP, The Art Directors Club, The James Beard Foundation, and The Type Directors Club.

Join CSCA on Thursday, March 24, to hear Matteo Bologna discuss what drives him to sweat the details of design and typeface development. (And while we're talking about faces, we might be so bold to ask about the incredible mustache he dons on his own.)
